Jo offers counselling, integrative psychotherapy and EMDR for trauma, working with the most frequent mental health difficulties including trauma, depression, anxiety, obsessive compulsive disorder, social anxiety and panic. She specialises in supporting and managing child behaviour, helping parents with parenting, and in attachment relationships, and has published two books on child behaviour. Her approach is predominantly a Rogerian model combined with mindfulness and compassion-based models; she is also trained in CBT for clients who prefer it, and in ACT and DBT skills, and undertakes single-session and solution-focused brief therapy.

She is an adoption support agency registered with Ofsted and rated Outstanding, working with adoptive children and families as well as adults affected by adoption, and offers supervision as a registered supervisor with the British Psychological Society. She won the BPS Award for Psychology in Practice for her work with children and families, and has published Foodsane, an account of managing metabolic disorder through time-related eating, alongside one-to-one Foodsane coaching and the Foodsane community.
