
Leigh Smith is a qualified counsellor, psychotherapist and clinical supervisor with over two decades in the counselling profession, and a Senior Accredited Registered Member of the National Counselling and Psychotherapy Society. She is an accredited EMDR practitioner and IFS UK qualified, and works in person, online and by telephone.

Leigh works with a wide range of difficulties, including trauma and PTSD, abuse and sexual abuse, domestic abuse, anxiety, panic attacks, generalised anxiety disorder and social anxiety, depression, anger, low self-esteem and low self-confidence, bereavement, OCD, phobias, self-harm, personality disorders, psychosis and hearing voices, hoarding, menopause, separation and divorce, work-related stress and burnout. She also supports autistic and ADHD clients, people with dyslexia and dyspraxia, and LGBTQ+ clients including those experiencing gender dysphoria, and describes herself as a trauma-informed practitioner.
Leigh's qualifications include BA Hons, PGCE, Dip Sup, Dip Psych and Dip Couns, with training in EMDR, Internal Family Systems, body process psychotherapy and online and telephone counselling. She has trained counsellors at one of the country's most prominent colleges and has worked for the WEA, South Hams District Council and Anxiety UK. Alongside counselling she offers clinical supervision. Sessions are £70 an hour for both counselling and supervision, following a free initial session in person, by telephone or online, with concessions for people on a low income, key workers, OAPs, students, trainee counsellors, unemployed people and refugees.
